STAX introduces a new semiconductor amplifier unit SRM-400S, the successor model to the SRM-353X. STAX custom-made low-noise DUAL FET is installed in the First Stage, and FET is also installed in the Last Stage. The characteristics of the right FET and left FET are strictly measured. Selected FETs are installed, just as in the SRM-700S. The SRM-400S inherits the design and manufacturing methods of the high-end SRM-700S, the amplifier with FETs installed in all stages.

In addition to the conventional power transformer for the high-voltage circuit, the newly designed transformer with winding for the low-voltage circuit is installed in the SRM-400S. The low-voltage winding improves power efficiency, achieves further energy savings, and delivers better sound quality than conventional amplifier units such as the SRM-353X.
A new chassis, more rigid than the previous model, is used. The chassis has a hybrid structure incorporating a lot of non-magnetic aluminium, further reducing the effects of environmental noise such as vibrations. Inputs include RCA and XLR, mutually exclusive. The custom-made concentric dual volume knob, standard across STAX products, and RCA PARALLEL OUT functions are included, as in previous amplifier units. All electronic components are carefully selected with environmental factors in mind. Sound quality and performance have also been enhanced. The complete DC amplifier configuration, with no coupling capacitors in the signal circuit, remains one of the brand’s defining features.

We understand that sometimes you might change your mind. We may, at our discretion, offer a return for items within 15 days of delivery. To be eligible, your item must be in brand new, unused condition and in its original, unopened packaging.
Please choose carefully, as we do not typically offer refunds for a change of mind. We may, however, provide an exchange or store credit instead. Please note that a restocking fee of up to 15% may be deducted from your credit or refund to cover our supplier costs.

The SRM-400S carries forward the high-resolution sound unique to semiconductor circuits, as well as dynamic low-range reproduction. At the same time, it achieves better overall sound balance than the SRM-353X. From low to high frequencies, each range is harmonised beautifully. Not only is it ideal for pairing with the advanced Lambda series, but the SRM-400S is also perfect for upgrading from the entry-level SRS-3100. This is a promising new model that caters from beginners to intermediate users in the renewed amplifier line up.
